Lee, System Operator (202)267-3332 Purpose The Federal Aviation Administration Corporate Bulletin Board (FAA CBB) has been implemented in order to provide an efficient means of widely disseminating FAA information. Using the FAA CBB allows FAA programs to provide information with minimal investment by the customer. The FAA CBB is provided as a service to the FAA community who desire to distribute information for Government and public access through use of an 800 number. To take advantage of this service requires that the sponsoring FAA organization designate an area manager responsible for the content and audience definition of their area. FAA CBB Customers Primary customers are specific to the target audience of each Bulletin Board Area. Broad based interest is also expected from the general public, the aviation industry, FAA personnel, Department of Transportation personnel, state and local government aviation organizations, aviation organizations of other federal government departments and agencies, as well as aviation organizations of foreign governments. System Description The FAA CBB system runs E-Soft’s TBBS bulletin board software version 2.2. The FAA CBB currently contains these areas from sponsoring FAA organizations: SKYNET - AOP,AIT (Area Administrator, Mike Lee (202)267-3332) General Public Access area. OATS Information and Download Service- AIT-900 (Area Administrator, Sam Petitto (202)267-7444) Providing new information on OATS and software fixes to download. Air Traffic Labor Relations BBS- ATZ-4 (Area Administrator, Ken Harrigan 626-2025) This area is can only be accessed by authorized ATZ users to update and track the status of various labor relations activities such as ULP’s, grievances, etc. NOS Transition Team BBS- AIT, AMI (Area Administrator, Jim Rusling (405)954-6030) Providing documentation and updates regarding the transition of Novell and StarGROUP networking environments to Windows NT. Corporate Streamlining BBS- sponsored by Carl Schellenberg and his streamlining team. (Area Administrator, Cheryl Ward (202)267-3727) Makes documents available from the streamlining plan. The FAA CBB can serve as a ‘gateway’ to other existing FAA Bulletin Boards. Other areas under construction are: Public Affairs HQ LAN Administrators Airways Facilities FIMS Access Procedures Access requires a personal computer, communications software such as Procomm and a 2400 or better modem. Access Phone Number (800) 224-6287 The first time you log-in to the system you will be asked to fill out a questionnaire, once you complete it you will then be asked to log-in again. The FAA CBB will attempt 24 hour operation. Official Hours of Operation are: 6:00 AM - 2:00 AM Eastern Standard Time. Scope of this Service This AIT-700 service is provided to support the FAA organizations sponsoring information areas. The specific content of these areas and the responsibility to provide the intended audience with connection capability is the responsibility of the sponsoring organization for that area. Documentation and Support In our support offering, it is assumed that the FAA CBB customer is familiar with common bulletin board access procedures or can rely on local support for this. AIT-700 offers various other levels of support. For customers with local connections to the AIT LAN, full support is provided. For other FAA Customers, support requests should be handled locally and escalated to the FAA CBB SYSOP or AIT help desk. For Area Manager support, contact the SYSOP. For all others, there are downloadable instructions once you have gained access. You may also obtain the system status by inquiring at the AIT Help Desk.
